Port of Hitachinaka, located between Hitachinaka city and Tokai Village in Ibaraki, is a core international Port with the most advanced International Container Terminal.

The Port, facing the ocean, lies on the sea route of Japan and the USA. It means the shipments towards the North America could be done by using the shortest route.

In the domestic distribution, due to the completion of Kita-Kanto Expressway, which is connected to Joban, Tohoku and Kanetsu Expressway, a new distribution route has been established. This will cause the rational restructure and a great progress of the distribution of the metropolitan area.
