Port of Hitachinaka, the most advanced international marine Container Terminal, is a core international Port. Its contribution in the development and reorganization of the metropolitan distribution together with the completion of Kita-Kanto Expressway is expected.

Port of Hitachinaka is adjacent to the major metropolitan consumptive area. Moreover, in its three background prefectures, many major shipping enterprises are located that large quantities of freight are expected to be collected.
The companies in the North Kanto, Tohoku region and those, which are using the Port of Keihin area, would be in geographically superior condition. There is the merit due to the reduction of the transportation costs and time.
Because Port of Hitachinaka is located on the shipping route of Japan and the USA, shortest route could be taken to go to the North America.
Port of Hitachinaka is the only port in Japan where a highly developed road is installed into. Constructions of the Port and the road are planned together so few traffic jams are expected, therefore, scheduled transportations could be done.
The cargo owners in Northern Kanto and Tohoku region could reduce the transport time and avoid traffic jams. These actions will also reduce NOx and CO2 produced, therefore, the distribution can be more ecological than ever.
The Container Terminal of 350m length and -15m depth is able to accommodate large container ships.
There are facilities such as two Gantry Cranes, which are accessible of over-panamax variety, Fumigation Shed and Maintenance Shop. Due to the adoption of the efficient transfer crane chassis, the Port functions as the most advanced Container Terminal.
In Port of Hitachinaka, a smooth cargo handling is possible since the ocean going vessels could be anchored right next to Coastal Vessels. It is suitable for Domestic Feeders.
“Hitachinaka Port Website” has been set up so the information of the Port and the distribution information would be provided to support the customers.
